This is embarrassing work from Cap1 engineers, but I hope this helps someone else. This extension requires a 1Password membership. I'm guessing there's some bug where the account name for a wrong password gets caught in a recursive loop and the only way out of it is to change your username. Now I can FINALLY log onto my mobile app again, and so far my password is recognized in multiple browsers. So, I tried: using Chrome -> clearing my cache -> resetting the password -> going in to change the username -> trying a username that did not previously result in an error, all in immediate succession, and I was able to make it work. When I tried a new username (just a different string of numbers after my normal user name) it worked. When I first tried to reset my username, I kept getting a "we hit a snag!" error message, which I think is just a poorly-written error message, because I *think* it's conveying that the username is already taken. Finally, the biggest thing: I wound up changing my username (in Chrome browser).I cleared the cache and history for all time in Chrome and also deleted and redownloaded the mobile app just in case any of the cached data was causing issues. Not sure if it had any impact, and I'll reconnect it shortly. I disabled my connection to YNAB during this process just in case that was causing confusion. There were times I was unable to even reset my password in Safari, but Chrome allowed me to reset. The browser you use definitely matters. OK, so here's what finally worked for me: But of course, if I typed the password I *just* reset into the mobile app, it wasn't recognized. (I use 1Pass.) Meanwhile, anytime I tried to log into my mobile app, it told me I had logged in too many times and my account was frozen and I should reset via the browser. Even if I logged in IMMEDIATELY after resetting, it wouldn't recognize my password. Every time I logged in through a browser, my password was not recognized and I had to reset it. OP: not sure if you ever got this figured out, but after bashing my head against this in rage for weeks, I finally think I found a solution.
